Determining
airshaft weights
The
chart above lists the approximate weights of the more common
types and sizes of standard duty Nim-Cor airshafts. Some
notes to remember about Nim-Cor airshafts include:
Heavy
or extra heavy-duty models of a given size would weigh more
because of the heavier wall used for the shaft body or leaves.
Fiberglass
sleeve types will always weigh less than leaf types of the
same size and dimensions.
The
exact weight of any Nim-Cor airshaft can be computed if
the exact dimensions and requirements are known.
The
 drawing
below shows how to figure the handling weight of a typical
button-type airshaft suitable for handling 3" I.D. cores
on a 30" web face in all steel and alternatively steel and
aluminum construction.
